Position Overview: The High School Education Coordinator supports our current high school students and focuses on preparing them for their next steps, including graduation, college, and/or career.

Start Date: July/August, 2024

Note: This position does not require any previous knowledge of, or experience playing squash.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Work collaboratively to ensure all 12th graders develop comprehensive plans for post-high school
  • Support some of our 12th graders through the college application and financial aid process
  • Lead academic tutoring sessions for up to 20 high school students.
  • Adapt/ create impactful and innovative enrichment sessions to prepare students for their transition from high school to post-secondary education and employment.
  • Develop relationships with local employers, trade schools, and colleges
  • Organize campus visits, job shadows, and field trips
  • Recruit, train, and manage volunteer tutors
  • Manage applications to summer opportunities for high school students
  • Utilize our program management software, Salesforce, to track all student data
  • Build meaningful and lasting relationships with students, teachers, families, and volunteers
  • Work as a team with other staff members and be willing to help staff as needed
  • Assist with summer camp programming

Work Hours:

  • School Year: Monday-Friday 10:30-6:30, with occasional Saturday field trips (1x per month) and 2-3 out-of-town trips per year.
  • Summer: Monday-Thursday 8:30-4:00; Fridays remote
  • Opportunities for remote work outside of direct programming hours.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Experience working with high school students preferred
  • Experience working with youth from diverse backgrounds
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Knowledge of the college application process preferred
  • Comfortable with high school academic subjects; math and science preferred
  • Driving requirements: valid driver’s license, clean driving record, and at least 3 years of driving experience
  • Willingness to drive a 15-passenger van.
  • Ability to pass a criminal background check and driver record check
